James Janke

James is a Senior Project Designer with global experience at renowned firms like Morphosis and SOM. At Morphosis, he contributed to high-profile projects including the 100,000+ sqm U.S. Embassy in Beirut and helped develop urban resilience strategies through The Now Institute’s Haiti Now visual almanac. At SOM, he worked on three landmark towers, including a competition-winning gateway to Sacramento’s Capitol Mall.

His portfolio spans large-scale mixed-use developments, higher education, hospitality, and cultural projects, as well as micro-scale humanitarian design. Since returning to his hometown of Denver in 2017, James has led design on a wide range of projects and remained active in academia through juries and competitions. He holds a Master of Architecture with distinction from UCLA. Outside work, he enjoys snowboarding, Denver sports, and life with his wife and six children. He is a parishioner at Holy Name Catholic Church.
